When: First Saturday of every month, 10:30-12:00, rain or shine

Where: Village Square at Orford & Eden Roads

What: Meet your neighbours and help beautify the neighbourhood. We pick up litter, remove graffiti, and depending on the season, plant bulbs, cut back hedges, or trim roses

No experience or tools required, everyone’s welcome!

Walthamstow Village Historical Tour of Walthamstow Village

Part 1: Saturday 9 May

11am-12pm

£5 tickets

Collaborating with Walthamstow Historical Society V17 has organised two guided historical walks this summer. 

This, the first walk in a series of 2, will take you through the conservation area known as Walthamstow Village.

The tour will take you on a journey dating back to the 12th Century starting at St Mary’s Church and include the following sites of interest;

  • St Mary’s Church 

  • Monoux Almshouses

  • St Mary’s Infants’ School (The Welcome Centre)

  • Squires’ Almshouses

  • Vestry House Museum

  • The National School & the old Fire Station

  • The Ancient House

  • The Nags Head

Last year these tours were very popular and tour places filled quickly. Tickets are available 

Tickets are only £5 and numbers are limited so please book early!

The 2nd tour will take place on Sunday 1st June and will cover the Orford Road conservation area - tickets are on sale below

Walthamstow Village Historical Tour of Walthamstow Village

Part 2: Saturday 6 June

11am-12pm

£5 tickets

Collaborating with Walthamstow Historical Society V17 has organised two guided historical walks this summer. 

This, the second walk in a series of 2, will take you through the conservation area known as Orford Road.

The tour will take you on a journey dating back to the mid-19th Century setting outside The Old Town Hall (opposite Petals in Bloom) and include the following sites of interest;

  • Orford House

  • Orford Road

  • Queen’s Arms Pub

  • Frank Ison’s shop

  • Former National School 

  • The Old Town Hall

  • Beulah Path
